[EN] Architecture's alleged capacity to meet ever new cultural and social challenges raises the dilemma between considering architecture a modern art or a vehicle for the realization of social good. The nature of the dilemma and its potential resolution in favor of the preservation of architecture¿s artistic autonomy are this paper's two leading concerns. To pursue them we first need to get clearer what renders art autonomous.
