Abstract

[EN] One hundred years after its publication, Le Corbusier's “Vers une architecture” remains a reference book for anyone who wants to understand how the emergence of modern architecture took place at the beginning of the 20th century. The origins of the book are to be found in the first twelve articles he published as Le Corbusier-Saugnier in the magazine L'Esprit Nouveau between October 1920 and April 1922. It is certainly the most widely disseminated, criticized and interpreted manifesto, and has exerted a great influence, both for and against, on a good number of architects. More than a few authors have written their “Towards an architecture....”, as Bruno Zevi did, adding the adjective 'organic'.

[ES] Cien años después de su publicación, "Vers une architecture" de Le Corbusier sigue siendo un libro de referencia para toda persona que quiera entender cómo se produjo la eclosión de la arquitectura modera a principios del siglo xx. Los orígenes del libro se encuentran en los doce primeros artículos que publica como Le Corbusier-Saugnier en la revista L'Esprit Nouveau entre octubre de 1920 y abril de 1922. Con toda seguridad es el manifiesto más difundido, criticado e interpretado, y ha ejercido una gran influencia, -a favor y en contra-, en un buen número de arquitectos. No son pocos los autores que tras él han redactado su «Hacia una arquitectura....», como lo hizo Bruno Zevi añadiendo el adjetivo 'orgánica'.
