Refurbishment & extension of older multi-storey city house

Abstract

Intercambios internacionales. VIA University College. Horsens. Dinamarca. The project consists in the refurbishment and the extension of an existing multi-storey building placed it the town of Vejle. The new apartments have the double size than the formers (5 apart. per floor) For this new distribution, two staircases are removed, and three lifts are installed next to the three remaining staircases. In the Ground Floor, four offices are planned. In addition, the existing balconies are extended with a new outer metallic structure. Concerning the roof, the sloped old one is removed and replaced by a flat roof and three new precast penthouse apartments. To fulfil the demands and to give a new appearance, a new cladding composed by a ventilated facade is installed.

El proyecto consiste en la rehabilitación y ampliación de un existente edificio multiplanta en la ciudad de Vejle. Los nuevos apartamentos tienen el doble de superficie que los existentes (5 apart. por planta). Para esta nueva distribución se eliminan dos bloques de escaleras y se instalan tres ascensores junto a las tres escaleras restantes. En la Planta Baja se sitúan cuatro oficinas. Además, los balcones se amplían mediante una nueva estructura metálica en el exterior. Respecto a la cubierta, el tejado existente es sustituido por una azotea y tres nuevos áticos prefabricados. Para satisfacer las demandas y cambiar apariencia exterior, se instala una fachada entilada en el exterior.
