Resumen

[EN] Santa Pola belonged to the shire of Elche one century ago. Currently, there is a big quantity of towers located in that territory, included its Castle. These towers have the same similarities, chronological and formal items, regarding to the rest of the towers located in the Mediterranean Coast. They have square and circle layouts and they are located over high headlands. The Castle is a renaissance building with square layout and central yard. The fences are low because they had to support the impact of the artillery. In the corner were built two diamond shaped bastions.
