Las Cátedras Ambulantes. Educación, música y propaganda sobre ruedas

Abstract

[ES] Para cumplir su misión de formar a las mujeres durante el franquismo, la Sección Femenina de Falange Española Tradicionalista y de las Juntas de Ofensiva Nacional Sindicalista (F.E.T. y de las J.O.N.S.) creó diversas instituciones, entre ellas las denominadas Cátedras Ambulantes. Este programa constituyó una de las principales iniciativas educativas impulsadas por este movimiento político. Su finalidad era promover la formación integral de las mujeres españolas, especialmente en las zonas rurales, bajo los principios de la ideología falangista. A través de este proyecto itinerante, se buscaba educar a las mujeres en distintas áreas como la moral, el hogar, la religión y las artes, transmitiendo así los valores del régimen franquista. Este artículo tiene como objetivo explorar el origen y el contexto histórico de las Cátedras Ambulantes, así como el contenido de las enseñanzas que impartían, prestando especial atención al papel de la música. Además, el texto resalta la doble función del programa: por un lado, como instrumento pedagógico destinado a la formación integral de las mujeres y, por otro, como mecanismo de control ideológico utilizado para consolidar el régimen franquista a través de elementos como la música y la danza.

[EN] To fulfill its mission of educating women during the Franco regime, the Women's Section of the Traditionalist Spanish Phalanx and the Councils of the National Syndicalist Offensive (F.E.T. y de las J.O.N.S.) established various institutions, among them the so-called "Cátedras Ambulantes" (Mobile Chairs). This program was one of the main educational initiatives promoted by this political movement. Its purpose was to promote the comprehensive education of Spanish women, especially in rural areas, under the principles of Falangist ideology. Through this itinerant project, the aim was to educate women in various areas such as morality, homemaking, religion, and the arts, thereby transmitting the values of the Franco regime. This article aims to explore the origin and historical context of the Traveling Chairs, as well as the content of the teachings they imparted, paying special attention to the role of music. Furthermore, the text highlights the program's dual function: on one hand, as an educational instrument aimed at the comprehensive formation of women; and on the other, as a mechanism of ideological control used to consolidate the Franco regime through elements such as music and dance.
