Laboratorios de lecturas creativas: creación literaria comunitaria y edición en territorio para la transformación social

Abstract

[EN] As part of the ¿Libre Libro: Creative Reading Communities¿outreach project at the Universidad de las Artes, the first Creative Reading Lab was developed at the KaribuLeo Community Library. This article systematizes the experience of a process that approaches books and reading as tools for social transformation.The lab brought together children and adolescents from the Cooperativa Cisne 2 neighborhood in the western suburbs of Guayaquil, promoting collective writing and community publishing. Its goal was to foster the construction of personal narratives, strengthen social bonds, and establish the neighborhood¿s first collection of collaborative books.Through this process, the need for accessible cultural spaces that enhance historical memory and community participation was identified. The experience highlights the impact of art and literature on social cohesion and their potential to generate change in vulnerable contexts.

[ES] En el marco del proyecto de vinculación ¿Libre Libro: comunidades creativas de lectura¿de la Universidad de las Artes, se desarrolló el primer Laboratorio de Lecturas Creativas en la Biblioteca Comunitaria KaribuLeo. Este artículo sistematiza la experiencia de un proceso de aproximación al libro y la lectura como herramientas de transformación social.El laboratorio reunió a niñas, niños y adolescentes del barrio Cooperativa Cisne 2, en el suburbio suroeste de Guayaquil, promoviendo la escritura colectiva y la edición comunitaria. Su objetivo fue fomentar la construcción de narrativas propias, fortalecer el tejido social y consolidar la primera colección de libros colectivos del barrio.A partir de este proceso, se identificó la necesidad de espacios culturales accesibles que potencien la memoria histórica y la participación comunitaria. La experiencia evidencia el impacto del arte y la literatura en la cohesión social y su capacidad para generar cambios en contextos de vulnerabilidad.
