Un problema real, la basura espacial

Abstract

[ES] Desde el lanzamiento del primer satélite en 1957, el número de satélites y objetos artificiales puestos en órbita no ha hecho más que aumentar a un ritmo exponencial, generando una enorme cantidad de basura que se encuentra en órbita terrestre moviéndose a gran velocidad y que supone un gran peligro para toda la actividad espacial y en menor medida por el riesgo de reentrada. En el trabajo se aborda este problema de la basura espacial.

Se realiza una introducción al problema, centrándose en cómo se ha llegado a él, así como en la situación actual, futura y en diferentes aspectos; para luego enfocarse en la solución a este problema.

Así, se estudian varias iniciativas existentes para afrontar el problema y se realiza un análisis de los diferentes métodos actuales para la eliminación de basura espacial, concretando con los distintos proyectos que se pretenden llevar a cabo en los próximos años y extrayendo conclusiones.

Una vez investigadas y estudiadas las ventajas e inconvenientes de cada uno de ellos se propondrá un proyecto para resolver alguno de los problemas de la basura espacial.

[EN] Since the first satellite launch in 1957, the number of satellites and artificial objects in orbit has seen a exponential increase, generating a great amount of debris which is orbiting around the Earth with high velocities. This junk supposes a big hazard to all space activity and to a lesser degree to the re-entry risk. In the thesis the space debris problem is tackled.

First, an introduction to the issue is done, focusing on how we have arrived to it, as well as on the current situation, the future situation and on differents points; and focusing then on the solution to this problem.

Therefore, the several existing initiatives to adress the issue are studied. There is an analysis done of the current remove debris techniques where there is a definition of the different projects thought to carry out in the next years, and drawing conclussions.

Finally, a project will be proposed, in order to solve some of the space debris problems.
