Abstract

[EN] Antoni González wonders whether it is possible to "conserve" without "transforming" first in a theoretical reflection which he makes about the essence of the act and the activity of restoration in recent years with his usual perspicacity. The intervention on this building, that can be seen as a significant switch on the part of the SPAL towards more conservative stances, is presented as an example of the attempt to set aside certain "magic" attitudes of other times but without giving up the method of "objective restoration", so as to make methodological rigour compatible with a better use of economic resources for our heritage.

[ES] ¿Es posible “conservar” sin antes “transformar”? pregunta Antoni González en una reflexión teórica que, con la habitual agudeza que le caracteriza, realiza sobre la esencia del acto restaurador y la actividad restauradora de los últimos años. La intervención en Sant Pere de Serrallonga, que puede entenderse como un significativo giro del SPAL hacia actitudes más conservadoras, se presenta como ejemplo del intento de olvidar ciertas “magias” de otros tiempos pero sin renunciar al método de “restauración objetiva”, con el propósito de compatibilizar el rigor metodológico con un mayor rendimiento patrimonial de los recursos económicos.
