La naturaleza como inspiración de arquitectura y el camuflaje de lo artificial

Abstract

[ES] En este Trabajo Fin de Máster se observan, analizan e investigan las relaciones entre la naturaleza y arquitectura. La mirada hacia la naturaleza y la obtención de los elementos formales y geométricos que la conforman ha sido una constante permanente a lo largo de la historia para conseguir, en un estadio final, la creación de una obra arquitectónica o artística. En este contexto, se enfatiza la mímesis entre naturaleza y arquitectura, cuestionando la vigencia de dicho procedimiento y analizando sus perspectivas en la actualidad. Para comenzar, se identifica y realiza un primer análisis de la producción de la arquitectura contemporánea con vinculaciones en los conceptos provenientes de mímesis, biomimética o biomímesis. En este estudio, se detecta una tendencia simbólica y formalista que adopta referencias naturalistas como formas, texturas, proporciones, materiales, etc. Seguidamente, se realiza una aproximación histórica a la mímesis, enfatizando en las definiciones e interpretaciones que lo largo de la historia ha ido adoptando de una forma simplificada y esquemática. Finalmente, se establecen las conclusiones del tema con el estudio de treinta edificaciones contemporáneas, dónde se han analizado las estrategias y argumentos de la mímesis entre naturaleza y arquitectura. Se detecta que este concepto se encuentra de actualidad, con tendencia a una cientifización que remonta a la época del renacimiento. Esto nos demuestra, que a día de hoy queremos vivir en un ambiente controlado, adaptable y que a la vez nos recuerde a lo natural.

[EN] In this project, we analyze and investigate the relationships between the nature and the architecture. The sight towards the nature and the achievement of the formal and geometric elements that build it up has been a permanent constant throughout history to achieve, in a final stage, the creation of an architectural or artistic work. In this context, it is emphasized, the mimesis between nature and architecture, questioning the validity of such procedure and analyzing its current perspectives. To begin, a first analysis of the production of contemporary architecture is identified and carried out with links in the concepts from mimesis, biomimetics or biomimicry. In this study, a symbolic and formalistic trend is detected that adopts naturalistic references such as shapes, textures, proportions, materials, etc. Consecutively, a historical approach to mimesis is made, emphasizing the definitions and interpretations that throughout history have been adopted in a simplified and schematic way. Finally, the conclusions of the subject matter are established with the study of thirty contemporary buildings, where the strategies and arguments of the mimesis between nature and architecture have been analyzed. It is identified that this concept is relevant, with a tendency towards a scientification that dates back to the Renaissance period. This proves us that nowadays we want to live in a controlled, adaptable environment that simultaneously reminds us of the natural object.
