Abstract

[ES] Los silos, tipología industrial venida de las Américas que despertó gran interés en muchos arquitectos del movimiento moderno; edificios inocentes, desprovistos de ornamentación que presentan rotundidad y carácter en el paisaje; ruinas de un pasado industrial reciente. El objetivo del trabajo es estudiar el papel de la arquitectura en la creación de una lectura crítica y un pensamiento sobre las posibilidades de esta tipología de arquitectura industrial, siendo conscientes del protagonismo que desempeña en el territorio, en la ciudad y en la sociedad, además del valor histórico que tienen. Extraer las características de estos edificios industriales modernos para que sean capaces de adaptarse a nuevos usos y funciones de una forma racional y sostenible sin que su significado cultural sea perdido. Establecer la reconversión industrial tanto como hipótesis para una regeneración urbana como para la preservación del patrimonio. Para ello, se procede a analizar diferentes casos de silos y su contexto urbano y social y su posible reintegración en el tejido urbano. Se pretende realizar una comprensión de dichas transformaciones y estudiar una viabilidad para la reutilización y reconversión del silo situado en la pedanía de La Punta, Valencia, zona donde se prevé la próxima extensión de la ciudad ante la revisión del Plan General de Valencia del año 2010. Para garantizar la conexión y permeabilidad con el barrio de Nazaret mientras se protege la huerta del lugar.
