Analysis of the recreational potential and the effect in La Graciosa Island and the impact of the tourism in the area

Abstract

[EN] La Graciosa is a National Park and now a day the tourism sector is exploiting at maximum its natural resources. The place is unique in the world for its endemic species, its great biodiversity and its particular environment. It is therefore necessary to raise the awareness of the importance of the protection and conservation of the island. The main idea of this thesis is to obtain a sustainable management of the tourism to reduce its current negative environmental impact.

[ES] La Graciosa es un parque nacional y hoy en día el sector del turismo está explotando al máximo sus recursos naturales. El lugar es único en el mundo por sus especies endémicas, su gran biodiversidad y su entorno particular. Por lo tanto, es necesario concienciar sobre la importancia de la protección y conservación de la isla. La idea principal de esta tesis es obtener una gestión sostenible del turismo para reducir el actual impacto ambiental.
