Dark tourism: la conversión de tragedias en atracciones turísticas

Abstract

[ES] Dark tourism es una de las tipologías turísticas más recientes en la que los turistas buscan nuevas maneras de ocio fuera de lo común. En los últimos años se ha incrementado el número de turistas que sienten atracción por los lugares que están relacionados con la muerte, las tragedias o guerras. Para satisfacer éstas nuevas necesidades de los turistas y hacer frente a la demanda, cada vez mayor, surge lo que se conoce como Dark tourism.

El objetivo de este trabajo es estudiar y ofrecer información sobre este nuevo fenómeno turístico donde se analiza el concepto de turismo negro, ofreciendo una definición propia, y sus principales ofertas turísticas. Para ello se ha indagado en el origen, es decir, de dónde surge este tipo de turismo, se han categorizado las diferentes modalidades que engloba el dark tourism, se han analizado e investigado las principales características y motivaciones de los turistas que consumen esta nueva tipología y finalmente se ha profundizado en las principales ofertas turísticas relacionadas con esta nueva manera de viajar.

[EN] Dark tourism is one of the most recent types of tourism in which tourists seek new ways of leisure out of the ordinary. In recent years there has been an increase in the number of tourists who are attracted to places that are related to death, tragedy or war. To meet these new needs of tourists and meet the growing demand, arises what is known as Dark tourism.

The objective of this work is to study and offer information about this new tourism phenomenon where the concept of black tourism is analysed, offering its own definition, and its main tourist offers. For this purpose, it has been investigated at the origin, that is, where this type of tourism came from, the different modalities included in dark tourism have been categorized, the main characteristics and motivations of tourists who consume this new typology have been analysed and researched. and finally it has deepened in the main tourist offers related to this new way of traveling.
