La Transversalidad del color

Abstract

[ES] Este paper presenta el concepto de transversalidad del color como una herramienta para entender la percepción del color en las ilustraciones e imágenes visuales originadas en lecturas sostenidas o en una cultura visual establecida. Actualmente el color es considerado desde varios campos; siendo los más destacados el científico, físico, psicológico y artístico. Al hablar de ilustraciones e imágenes visuales el entendimiento del color se da desde un punto de vista más artístico, concentrándose en las características denotativas y connotativas del color logrando establecer por medio de ellas y en conjunción con el resto de elementos visuales, el mensaje final de la imagen ; sin embargo, a la hora de la práctica al hablar de color estos dos conceptos de entrelazan haciendo que el mensaje posea una narrativa cromática capaz llegar a influenciar notablemente nuestra percepción y por lo tanto la propia interpretación y significación de lo que estamos viendo. Este trabajo habla sobre la transversalidad del color y la presenta como una cualidad del color que permite entender el uso del mismo desde el ámbito artístico proponiendo una lectura del mismo ya no desde perspectivas separadas, sino por el contrario, desde la conjunción de ellas, tratando el color como un ente activo y no pasivo en el momento de percepción de la imagen.

[EN] This paper presents the concept of the Transversality of color as a tool to understand the perception of color in illustrations and visual images that has its origin in sustained readings or in an established visual culture. Currently the color is considered from several fields; the scientific, physical, psychological and artistic. When we speaks of illustrations and visual images, the understanding of color is given from an artistic point of view, concentrating on the denotative and connotative characteristics of color, establishing through them and in conjunction with the rest of the visual elements, the final message of the picture ; However, at the time of practice when talking about color, these two concepts intertwine making a chromatic narrative that is able to significantly influence our perception and therefore the interpretation and meaning of what we are seeing. This article presents the Transversality of color as a quality of color that allows us to understand its use from the artistic field as a union of elements, which are no longer seen from different perspectives, but on the contrary, from the conjunction of them, where color is seen as an active entity at the moment of image perception.
