El yo. Autorretratos fragmentarios

Abstract

[ES] Este trabajo presenta una serie de autorretratos de bronce, resina epoxi y papel de seda, acompañados de una reflexión teórica sobre la identidad como algo múltiple, que se ha ido formando a través de nuestro entorno. Estos autorretratos son fragmentarios, es decir, no se muestran completos. Los fragmentos responden a lo que cada uno muestra de sí mismo, dejando ciertas partes ocultas. Hablamos en parte del hermetismo de la persona, que guarda sentimientos y experiencias para sí misma, pero que a la vez decide qué partes mostrar. Todo esto lo podemos situar en el contexto actual de las redes sociales, en el que, a través de fotografías seleccionadas y pequeños pies de foto, formamos nuestra personalidad de cara al público, que puede llegar a creer conocernos mediante lo que nosotros publicamos. El tema de la identidad se encuentra directamente relacionado con el psicoanálisis de Freud, del cual también recuperamos los términos del ello, el yo y el superyó. De aquí proviene el título de esta serie, El yo, que corresponde a la parte que modera, la parte consciente y a la vez personal y subjetiva.¿ Es importante comprender esta serie en conjunto, observando todos y cada uno de los detalles, pero sin perder de vista en ningún momento que es un todo. En su instalación expositiva mostraremos todas las piezas en el centro de la sala, pudiendo verse unas junto a otras, y unas a través de otras, haciendo cuestionarse al espectador a cerca de su significado y su porqué.

[EN] This work presents a series of self-portraits of bronze, epoxy resin and tissue paper, accompanied by a theoretical reflection on identity as something multiple, which has been formed through our environment. These self-portraits are fragmentary, that is, they are not complete. The fragments respond to what each one shows of himself, leaving certain hidden parts. We speak in part of the secrecy of the person, who keeps feelings and experiences for himself, but at the same time decides which parts to show. All this we can place in the current context of social networks, which, through selected photographs and small captions, we form our personality for the public, who may come to believe we know through what we publish. The theme of identity is directly related to Freud's psychoanalysis, from which we also recover the terms of the id, the ego and the superego. This is the origin of the title of this series, El yo, which corresponds to the moderating part, the conscious and at the same time personal and subjective part. " It is important to understand this series as a whole, observing each and every one of the details, but without losing sight of the fact that it is a whole. In its exhibition installation we will show all the pieces in the center of the room, being able to see each other, and some through others, making the viewer question about its meaning and its why.
