Hacer deberes. Futilidad y práctica pictórica

Abstract

[EN] This Final Master's Paper consists of a series of works whose pictorial context focuses on the development of the objectual qualities of painting and on metapictorial and self-referential language. These works are characterised by their small size and their similarity to the model, by the use of pictorial matter as a structural element and their geometric character. They are the result of the application of a specific methodology in which making art is equated to doing homework, with artistic production being a cult gesture to the school's learning protocols and to the uselessness and pragmatic obsolescence of the knowledge obtained in them, which is now applied to artistic creation in this project. In this way, the aim is to propose a line of reflection and questioning on the usefulness of art to confront the absurd.

[ES] Este Trabajo Final de Máster se compone de una serie de trabajos cuyo contexto pictórico se centra en el desarrollo de las cualidades objetuales de la pintura y en el lenguaje metapictórico y autorreferencial. Estos trabajos se caracterizan por su pequeño tamaño y su semejanza con la maqueta, por el uso de la materia pictórica como elemento estructural y su carácter geométrico. Son el resultado de la aplicación de una metodología especifica en la que hacer arte se equipara a hacer deberes, siendo la producción artística un gesto de culto a los protocolos de aprendizaje del colegio y a la inutilidad y obsolescencia pragmática de los conocimientos en ellos obtenidos que, ahora, se aplican a la creación artística en este proyecto. De esta manera se pretende proponer una línea de reflexión y cuestionamiento sobre la utilidad del arte para afrontar el absurdo.
