Abstract

[ES] En el límite norte de la ciudad de Valencia se dibuja el contraste entre la tradición, el patrimonio cultural con la degradación y el crecimiento descontrolado de uno de los barrios más problemáticos de Valencia. Así mismo, el desequilibrio y descontextualización social provocado por la diversidad cultural y económica elevan el riesgo de exclusión social de los colectivos más vulnerables. Como propuesta para dar solución a las problemáticas que se manifiestan en el lugar, se plantea una intervención que logre poner en valor uno de los elementos más representativos del patrimonio valenciano, la huerta. La propuesta plantea una regeneración urbana y social a través de la creación de equipamientos y puntos de interés interconectados con los recorridos tradicionales de la huerta y con los existentes de la ciudad de manera que se produzca un flujo que revitalice la actividad del barrio de Torrefiel. En el epicentro de la actuación se ubica San Miguel de los Reyes, uno de los bienes culturales más importantes de la ciudad que, en estos momentos, se encuentra totalmente descontextualizado de ella. A través del equipamiento social que se propone, que actúa de umbral hacia este monumento y hacia la huerta, se pretende dar solución a esta problemática y articular la propuesta urbana con el barrio. El proyecto se concibe como un contendor social con una doble funcionalidad, regenerar la relación del barrio con el patrimonio cultural del norte de la ciudad, así como dar cabida a las distintas generaciones que conviven allí para producir un intercambio cultural y favorecer la integración social de las mismas. Un nexo que sea capaz de poner en valor el patrimonio cultural, a través de la relación entre la sociedad que habita Torrefiel con la cultura y el arte como elemento cohesivo.

[EN] In the northern boundary of the city of Valencia, the contrast between tradition, cultural heritage and the degradation and uncontrolled growth of one of the most problematic neighbourhoods of Valencia is revealed. Moreover, the imbalance and social decontextualization caused by cultural and economic diversity raise the risk of social exclusion of the most vulnerable groups. As a proposal to solve the problems of the place, the intervention aims to enhance one of the most representative elements of Valencian heritage, the orchard. The proposal poses an urban and social regeneration through the creation of facilities and points of interest interconnected with the traditional routes of the orchard and with the existing ones in the city creating a flow that revitalizes the activity of the neighbourhood of Torrefiel. At the epicentre of the intervention we can find San Miguel de los Reyes, one of the most important cultural assets of the city which, at this time, is totally decontextualized from it. Through the social facilities proposed, which act as a threshold towards this monument and towards the orchard, it is intended to solve this problem and bring together the urban proposal and the neighbourhood. The project is conceived as a social container with a double functionality, regenerating the relationship of the neighbourhood with the cultural heritage of the north side of the city, as well as allowing for the different generations that live there to produce a cultural exchange and favour their social integration. A nexus capable of emphasizing the cultural heritage, by means of the connection between the people that inhabit Torrefiel with culture and art understood as cohesive elements.
