Turias Line. Vivienda social en Calle Llíria

Abstract

[ES] En su paso por Valencia, el Río Turia adquiere el papel de unificar espacios fundamentales en la ciudad. En este proyecto se potencia esta conexión mediante estrategias como peatonalización en dichos espacios, pasos subterráneos hacia el río, desniveles que unen la topografía de la ciudad con la del cauce, y presencia de agua.

Uno de estos puntos significativos es la Manzana U-22. Se propone la recuperación de la relevancia histórica y cultural del emplazamiento mediante la implantación de un Mercado de alimentación, arte y artesanía en el corazón de la manzana. A su vez, para paliar la escasez de actividad residencial en la zona, se plantean dos franjas de vivienda, una en Calle Llíria y otra alineada con el trazado de la Calle de la Beneficencia.

El presente proyecto se centra en el bloque en Calle Llíria. Se desarrolla una vivienda social, digna y gestionada por los vecinos. La modulación y técnicas constructivas responden a la memoria de las viviendas obreras colindantes. Las viviendas están destinadas a nuevos modelos de familias, ofreciendo ambientes flexibles, desjerarquizados y accesos independientes. Los espacios comunitarios reúnen actividades cotidianas en zonas de encuentro. Asimismo existen espacios de taller y huertos urbanos en estrecha relación con el Mercado adyacente. Se busca la sostenibilidad del edificio por medio de premisas como la orientación, ventilación cruzada, utilización de materiales ecológicos y energías renovables.

[EN] In its course through Valencia, Turia s line acquires the role of unifying relevant spaces into the city. In this project, this connection is strengthened through strategies such as pedestrianization in these spaces, underpasses towards the river, slopes that join the topography of the city with the river, and presence of water.

One of these important points is the U-22 Block. It is proposed the recovery of the historical and cultural relevance of the site through the establishment of a food, art and crafts market in the heart of the block. In turn, to solve the lack of residential activity in the area, there are planned two stripes of housing, one in Calle Llíria and another aligned with the layout of Calle de la Beneficencia.

This project focuses on the block in Calle Llíria. It is developed social housing, dignified and managed by the own neighbors. Modulation and constructive techniques respond to the memory of adjoining working-class houses. The apartments are designed for new family models, offering flexible and non-hierarchical environments, and independent access. Some daily activities will take place in meeting areas. There are also workshop spaces and urban gardens in close cooperation with the adjacent market. The sustainability of the building is sought through premises such as orientation, use of environmentally friendly materials and renewable energy.
