Biblioteca y centro intergeneracional. El edificio como elemento vertebrador

Abstract

[CA] En el context en el qual sorgeix l’edifici conviuen la riquesa cultural d’una societat canviant i diversa amb la tradició i història del lloc. És ací on naix un projecte que uneix a les persones amb el lloc en què habiten, fent-los partícips del present mitjançant la revalorització de les tradicions. A més, són les necessitats dels habitants del barri les encarregades de definir un programa coherent i respectuós amb l’entorn, tot això incorporant tres facetes; el planeta, el sector econòmic i l’èsser humà, de manera sostenible i equilibrada. El projecte sorgeix com un element vertebrador de l’espai, on l’edificació és la ferramenta que propicia l’activitat tant en l’interior com en l’exterior, sent l’horta valenciana la protagonista del lloc. La consideració de factors com els vents dominants, l’orientació, les vistes, la vegetació, la radiació solar, entre d’altres, donen lloc a una forma, volum i distribució concreta, tot i que, amb un formalisme aparentment lliure i entrellaçat amb l’exterior. De la mateixa manera, els materials i els sistemes constructius utilitzats són elements clau per a garantir el correcte funcionament i eficiència energètica de l’edifici.

[EN] This building arises in a context in which the cultural richness of a changing and diverse society meets the traditions and history of the place. Here is where a a project is developed that joins the people with the place they live in, making them participants in the present through the revaluation of the traditions. Additionally, the needs of the inhabitants of the neighborhood are responsible for defining a program which is coherent and respectful with the environment, keeping in mind three essential aspects: the planet, profit and people, in a sustainable and balanced way. The project emerges as a structural element of the space, where the building acts as a tool that promotes activities in its interior and exterior, the "Horta Valenciana" (orchard) around it being the protagonist of the space. The consideration of factors such as prevailing winds, orientation, views, vegetation and solar radiation among others, originate a concrete shape, volume and distribution to the building, although with an apparent free form intertwined with the exterior. In the same way, the materials and construction systems used are key elements to ensure the proper functionality and energy efficiency of the building.
