Proyecto pintura mural: Una habitación propia

Abstract

[ES] Esta memoria recoge el proceso de realización de un proyecto personal titulado ¿Una habitación propia¿, donde he recabado de forma documental las vivencias de mujeres vecinas de Benimámet, tratando el hecho de que no han tenido la posibilidad de disfrutar de un espacio para ellas solas, ahondado en la perspectiva de género. Esta idea surge por la necesidad de incidir en la importancia de contar con un lugar privado para una misma, como Virginia Woolf pone de manifiesto en su ensayo ¿Una habitación propia¿, utilizando la fotografía y la pintura como cohesión entre las mujeres. La obra final será una pintura mural en una pared del barrio de Benimámet, periferia de Valencia, de donde son vecinas las protagonistas del proyecto. La intención es visibilizar, con las prácticas artísticas realizadas, las desigualdades que, por normalizadas que puedan estar, como es el caso de tener una habitación propia, han sufrido las mujeres a lo largo de su vida.

[EN] This report includes the process of carrying out a personal project entitled "A room of one's own". Where I have collected in a documentary way, the experiences of women from Benimámet. Treating the fact that they have not had the possibility of enjoying space for themselves because they have forced to share their room throughout their lives; delving into the gender perspective. This idea arises from the need to emphasize the importance of having a private place for oneself, as Virginia Woolf shows in her essay "A room of one's own"; using photography and painting as elements of cohesion between women. The final work will be a mural painting on a wall in the Benimámet neighbourhood, on the outskirts of Valencia, where the protagonists of the project are neighbours. The intention is to make visible through art inequalities that, no matter how normalized they may be, such as having a room of their own, women have suffered throughout their lives.
