Abstract

[ES] El centro de alto rendimiento deportivo del motor (CARCheste) se sitúa en el Complejo Educativo de Cheste (CECheste), Valencia, cerca del circuito de motos Ricardo Tormo. Se encuentra ubicado en la zona alta de las curvas de nivel, que constituye el punto final del semicírculo que forma los cuatro bloques de residencia estudiantil de la antigua Universidad Laboral de Cheste. Actualmente se halla abandonado, sin ningún uso en concreto e incomunicado respeto al complejo educativo y al circuito, a pesar del potencial demográfico que posee. Por ello, el proyecto busca la conexión y la apertura a las instalaciones existentes, así como la relación con el entorno y la puesta en valor del mismo, además de facilitar el desarrollo de las actividades propias de un centro de alto rendimiento. El objetivo del trabajo es la conexión tanto terrenal como visual del complejo educativo y el circuito de motos, situado bajo la pendiente. El edificio se proyecta principalmente como la unión de volúmenes, de forma central, que albergan usos aparentemente distintos pero complementarios entre sí. La geometría del proyecto nace de la similitud de los diferentes pabellones existentes y la relación y conexión entre ellos, con el fin de transformar las zonas exteriores como espacios principales de visibilidad desde cualquier punto del complejo educativo, así como convirtiéndose en un elemento articulador de las instalaciones deportivas. De esta forma se completa el espacio abandonado, sin modificar las tramas más características del terreno así como sus curvas de nivel. El proyecto se posa en el terreno, buscando las condiciones necesarias para llevar a cabo las tareas propias del centro deportivo, convirtiéndose en un elemento referencial de conexión dentro del sistema de espacios educativos y el circuito de motos. El resultado, por lo tanto, es la suma de volúmenes de actividades aparentemente sin relación que, en su conjunto, se integran en el paisaje y consiguen acercar la enseñanza a las instalaciones deportivas, creando lugares de encuentro e intercambio. El proyecto nace, pues, de su propia ambivalencia, mostrándose como elemento de transición entre el entorno natural y la zona de construcción masiva; y de intermediador entre dos mundos: el académico y el profesional.

[EN] The Centre for High Performance Motor Sports (CHPCheste) is located in the Cheste Educational Complex (CECheste), Valencia, near the Ricardo Tormo motorcycle circuit. It is located in the upper area of the contour lines, which is the end point of the semicircle that forms the four student residence blocks of the former Universidad Laboral de Cheste. At present it is abandoned, with no use in particular and incommunicado with respect to the educational complex and the circuit, despite the demographic potential it has. For this reason, the project seeks to connect and open up to the existing facilities, as well as the relationship with the environment and the enhancement of the same, in addition to facilitating the development of the activities of a high performance centre. The aim of the work is to connect the educational complex and the motorbike circuit, located under the slope, both on land and visually. The building is mainly designed as the union of volumes, in a central manner, that include apparently different but complementary uses. The geometry of the project is born of the similarity of the different existing pavilions and the relationship and connection between them, with the aim of transforming the outdoor areas as the main spaces for visibility from any point of the educational complex, as well as becoming an articulating element of the sports facilities. In this way, the abandoned space is completed, without modifying the most characteristic patterns of the terrain as well as its contours. . The project sits on the ground, seeking the necessary conditions to carry out the tasks of the sports centre, becoming a reference element of connection within the system of educational spaces and the motorcycle circuit. The result, therefore, is the sum of apparently unrelated volumes of activities that, as a whole, are integrated into the landscape and manage to bring teaching closer to the sports facilities, creating places for meeting and exchange. The project is therefore born of its own ambivalence, showing itself to be an element of transition between the natural environment and the area of mass construction; and of an intermediary between two worlds: the academic and the professional.
