Metodología y práctica para un inventario de viviendas ferroviarias de nueva construcción en España (1939-1990)

Abstract

[EN] Making inventories is the main mandate of the various documents and recommendations of national and international bodies concerned with the preservation of cultural heritage. Within this framework, this paper proposes a methodology and practice for carrying out an inventory of railway housing built in Spain during the second half of the 20th century. The chosen topic is justified by the reasonable availability of sources, which in many cases have been barely studied, and also by the scarcity of research of this nature in the Spanish railway historiography as a whole, as well as by the social relevance of the issue. The systematic recording of data has the double purpose of having ordered information on the subject of study, in this case, housing, and also of facilitating the analysis of this information to find patterns, singularities and interesting elements in the general study of the subject, thus helping in an adequate qualification and assessment of its heritage value. To this we should add a third objective, to which social researchers have not always been inclined, which is to have available information at any times, to facilitate the recovery of data and to share the results with other researchers so that they can be improved, rectified and further developed

[ES] La realización de inventarios es el mandato principal de las diferentes cartas y recomendaciones de los organismos nacionales e internacionales preocupados por la preservación del patrimonio cultural. En este marco, este artículo propone una metodología y práctica para la realización de un inventario de vivienda ferroviaria construida en España durante la segunda mitad del siglo XX. El tema elegido se justifica por una razonable disponibilidad de fuentes, poco estudiadas en muchos casos, también por la escasez de investigaciones de este calado en el conjunto de historiografía ferroviaria española, así como por la relevancia social del tema. El registro sistemático de datos tiene la doble finalidad de disponer de una información ordenada del tema de estudio, en este caso, la vivienda, y también de facilitar el análisis de dicha información para encontrar patrones, singularidades y elementos de interés en el estudio general del tema, para de este modo ayudar en una adecuada calificación y valoración de su relevancia patrimonial. A esto deberíamos añadir un tercer objetivo, al que no siempre han sido proclives los investigadores sociales, como es el de tener accesible la información en todo momento, facilitar la recuperación de los datos y compartir con otros investigadores los resultados para que estos puedan ser mejorados, corregidos y ampliados.
