Centro cultural La Farinera.

Abstract

[ES] La adaptación de una antigua fábrica de harinas y el aprovechamiento de un muro preexistente consiguen albergar un programa cultural que da cuenta de las posibilidades de reutilización de la arquitectura industrial.

La conexión del barrio de la cruz cubierta con el nuevo parque central de Valencia, la preservación de la tipología de la calle San Vicente y la reutilización de las preexistencias industriales son los temas que se desarrollan en el proyecto, llegando a una intervención que trata tanto de integrar como de poner en valor la memoria histórica de este conjunto industrial.

La rehabilitación y el estudio de las piezas de valor de la fábrica de harinas resuelve una zona de biblioteca que potencia un gran vacío generado por los antiguos silos ubicados en el interior de la fábrica.

Por otro lado, se habilita el muro preexistente y las edificaciones de la calle San Vicente generando una nueva tipología de edificación que alberga una zona de talleres y que conecta al conjunto la harinera con la antigua fábrica de Macosa considerada Bien de interés cultural.

Especial importancia adquiere el acondicionamiento de los espacios libres, que se convierten mayoritariamente en áreas peatonales y de esparcimiento y que persiguen conectarse a la estructura verde de toda la ciudad.

[EN] The adaptation of an old flour factory and the use of a pre-existing wall manage to host a cultural program that shows the possibilities of reuse of industrial architecture. The connection of the covered cross neighborhood (barrio de la cruz cubierta) with the new central park in Valencia, the preservation of the typology of San Vicente street and the reuse of pre-existing industry are the themes that are developed in the project, reaching an intervention that tries to both integrate and value the historical memory of this industrial complex.

The rehabilitation and study of the valuable pieces of the flour factory solves a library area that enhances the large space generated by the old silos located inside the factory.

On the other hand, the pre-existing wall and the buildings on San Vicente street are inhabited, generating a new type of building that houses a workshop area and that connects the whole flour factory with the old Macosa factory considered a Site of cultural interest.

Special importance is given to the conditioning of open spaces, which are converted mainly into pedestrian and recreational areas which seek to connect to the green structure of the entire city.
