Hábitat cooperativo en el barrio del Grao.

Abstract

[ES] La estructura morfológica del barrio del Grao ha estado expuesta a constantes transformaciones, la mayoría ligados a su carácter fabril. Es precisamente en una antigua parcela industrial donde se desarrollará la cooperativa de viviendas en cesión de uso. Se trata de uno de los vacíos más importantes del barrio, muy próximo a las Atarazanas del Grao y a la Marina de Valencia. Como respuesta a la discontinuidad espacial del barrio y a la propia singularidad de la parcela, el proyecto pretende coser el existente eje cultural-peatonal que conecta la plaza Tribunal de las Aguas con la plaza del Rosario. Con la intención de reactivar la vida del barrio, la cooperativa alberga un programa híbrido en el que conviven diversos usos, destacando la vivienda. La propuesta reflexiona sobre diferentes maneras de habitar y ofrece un nuevo espacio público para el barrio y para su conexión con la ciudad.

[EN] The morphological structure of El Grao neighbourhood has been exposed to constant transformations, most of them due to its manufacturing origin. It is precisely in an old industrial plot where the housing cooperative will be developed. It is one of the most important voids in the neighborhood, near the Atarazanas del Grao and Valencia¿s port. In response to the spatial discontinuity of the neighbourhood and the singularity of the plot, the project aims to strengthen the existing cultural-spatial axis that connects the Tribunal de las Aguas square with the Rosario square. In order to reactivate the neighbourhood¿s life, the cooperative holds a hybrid program that gathers different uses simultaneously, highlighting housing. The proposal reflects on different ways of living and offers a new public space for the neighborhood and for its connection with the city.
