Una Tabula Plena de Busan, Corea. Dibujando un paisaje borrado

Abstract

[EN] The city of Busan experiences at the end of the 19th century a violent rupture with its tradition through a forced modernization (tabula rasa), both in spatial change (tabula real) as in its understanding and in its cartographical representation (tabula virtual). This article describes the process of erasing traditional space through cartography, the way of producing and dominating modern spaces. It analyses traditional cartography in order to compare it with the modern standard that replaces it. Finally, it tries to redraw and to recover the erased and forgotten landscape through the same tool, the cartography (tabula plena).

[ES] La ciudad de Busan experimenta a finales del siglo XIX, una fuerte ruptura con su tradición mediante una modernización forzada (tabula rasa), tanto en el cambio espacial (tabula real) como en la comprensión del mismo y en su representación cartográfica (tabula virtual). Este texto interpreta el proceso de eliminación del espacio tradicional a través de cartografí­a, la herramienta para producir y dominar espacios modernos. Analiza además la cartografí­a tradicional para compararla con la que la reemplaza. Y finalmente redibuja el paisaje borrado y olvidado a través de la misma herramienta, la cartografí­a (tabula plena).
