Rediscovering Vernacular Landscape: The Mediterranen Coast A walk to rediscover, reactivate (and relove) Pinedo

Abstract

[ES] La recuperación del paisaje histórico valenciano es el principal objetivo de este proyecto, y para ello se plantean 3 estrategias: redescubrimiento, reactivación y re-enamoramiento. Redescubrimiento. Que los usuarios se encuentren cómodos fuera de su entorno habitual. Se ha tratado de unificar los distintos paisajes que se encuentran actualmente en la playa de Pinedo y sus alrededores, recuperando los paisajes tradicionales valencianos, como la huerta, las viviendas tradicionales o las dunas valencianas de El Saler. Reactivación. Para lograrlo, el programa incluye la propuesta de un recorrido circular desde el núcleo urbano de Pinedo hasta la Albufera de Valencia, en el que aparece un edificio principal como lugar de encuentro y convivencia de los habitantes de la población con los visitantes. Re-enamoramiento. Conseguir transmitir tranquilidad y ganas de volver a visitar el proyecto gracias a la vegetación empleada, a los diferentes materiales que aparecen en el edificio, los juegos de luz, las cubiertas inclinadas¿ Tanto con la rehabilitación de la antigua alquería que se encuentre en la parcela, como con el edificio de planta nueva que se propone, se pretende crear un complejo dotacional que dará respuesta a las necesidades funcionales y espaciales que se consideran insuficientes en el Pinedo actual; una sala de exposiciones, un auditorio, aulas de escuela, y un museo que ensalza la importancia del arroz en Valencia.

[EN] The main objective of this project is the recovery of the Valencian historical landscape, and with this intention, 3 strategies are proposed: rediscovery, reactivation and re-falling in love. There has been an attempt to unify the different landscapes that are currently found in Pinedo¿s beach and its surroundings, recovering the traditional Valencian landscapes, such as the vegetable garden, the traditional houses or the Valencian dunes of El Saler. Reactivation. To achieve this, the program includes the proposal of a circular route from the urban center of Pinedo to the Albufera of Valencia. A main building appears in the urban limit as a meeting place and coexistence of the inhabitants of the town and visitors. Re-loving. To transmit tranquility and the desire to visit the project again thanks to the vegetation used, the different materials that appear in the building, the light effects, the sloping roofs ... Both with the rehabilitation of the old farmhouse that is on the plot, and with the proposed new building, it is intended to create an endowment complex that will respond to the functional and spatial needs that are considered insufficient in the current Pinedo; an exhibition hall, an auditorium, school classrooms, and a museum that extols the importance of rice in Valencia.
