[EN] Urban areas concentrate 70% of the population, therefore are key place for work through the challenges of climate change. The growth in population has caused the expansion of the built surface and the decrease of free spaces; boosting the temperature stress in the cities.
This TFM seeks to find a methodology to estimating the Surface Temperature using satellite images in order to study the Urban Heat Islands (ICU), in a simple way and with little resources. Also, be able to investigate the relationship between urban morphology and Urban Heat. Finally be able to identifying the urban characteristics that help cities be more resilient to climate change.
To achieve this, we have the following resources: images of the ASTER satellite, the cadastral information of the buildings and the LIDAR information. The cadastral allows obtaining the height, surface and volume of buildings, and the LIDAR information the location of the green areas.
