Crítica de la razón oculocentrista: hapticidad y polisensorialidad en la teoría arquitectónica de Juhani Pallasmaa

Abstract

[ES] Frente al paradigma de hipervisualidad existente en la arquitectura contemporánea, Juhani Pallasmaa plantea la recuperación fenomenológica, entendida como crítica al oculocentrismo y a la retinización espacial. En función de este hecho, desarrolla una teoría arquitectónica centrada no solo en la reivindicación de lo háptico, sino también en un hacer espacial multisensorializado. Un hacer que privilegia el habitar ante el construir y que se basa en una percepción holista que, sin circunscribirse únicamente a lo visual, apela al sentido del cuerpo en su compleja integridad física y espacial.[EN] Faced with the paradigm of hypervisuality existing in contemporary architecture, Juhani Pallasmaa proposes a phenomenological recovery, understood as a critique of oculocentrism and spatial retinitisation. Based on this fact, he develops an architectural theory centred not only on the vindication of the haptic, but also on a multisensorialised spatial making. A way of doing that privileges inhabiting over building and that is based on a holistic perception that, without limiting itself solely to the visual, appeals to the sense of the body in its complex physical and spatial integrity.
