Abstract

[ES] El objetivo principal de este trabajo es abordar el fenómeno de la despoblación en el municipio de Alarcón, que tiene un origen algo incierto, pero posee un profundo legado cultural. Alarcón es un pequeño municipio en Cuenca y ejemplifica cómo este problema demográfico puede minar la vitalidad de lugares que desempeñaron roles fundamentales en el pasado.

Las causas principales de la despoblación, como la emigración hacia las ciudades en busca de empleo y mejores condiciones de vida, el envejecimiento de la población y la falta de oportunidades laborales, son desafíos que enfrenta Alarcón. A medida que las personas abandonaron la localidad, varias viviendas quedaron en estado de deterioro y deshabitadas. Tras un análisis exhaustivo, este proyecto comprenderá varias intervenciones necesarias para atraer a los habitantes que en su momento se marcharon en busca de empleo y que ahora podrían encontrar atractivas razones para regresar. También se pretende atraer a jóvenes que deseen desconectar de la ciudad, ya sea a tiempo parcial o completo, aprovechando la facilidad que ofrece el teletrabajo en la actualidad, y utilizando los recursos paisajísticos del municipio para crear nuevas atracciones turísticas que generen empleo.

En primer lugar, el proyecto realizará una primera aproximación a diferentes propuestas para finalmente desarrollar por completo una de ellas. La iniciativa busca no solo preservar el patrimonio histórico y cultural de la localidad, sino también revitalizarla atrayendo nuevos residentes y generando oportunidades económicas. Esto sirve como un ejemplo de cómo la inversión en desarrollo rural, la restauración de viviendas abandonadas y la promoción del turismo pueden ser estrategias efectivas para abordar la despoblación.

[EN] The main objective of this work is to address the phenomenon of depopulation in the municipality of Alarcón, which has a somewhat uncertain origin, but has a deep cultural legacy. Alarcón is a small municipality in Cuenca and exemplifies how this demographic problem can undermine the vitality of places that played fundamental roles in the past.

The main causes of depopulation, such as emigration to the cities in search of employment and better living conditions, the aging population and the lack of job opportunities, are challenges that Alarcón faces. As people left the town, several homes were left in a state of decay and uninhabited. After a thorough analysis, this project will include several interventions necessary to attract residents who left in search of employment and who could now find attractive reasons to return. It is also intended to attract young people who wish to disconnect from the city, either part-time or full-time, taking advantage of the ease offered by teleworking today, and using the landscape resources of the municipality to create new tourist attractions that generate employment.

First, the project will make a first approximation different proposals to finally fully develop one of them. The initiative seeks not only to preserve the historical and cultural heritage of the town, but also to revitalize it by attracting new residents and generating economic opportunities. This serves as an example of how investing in rural development, restoring abandoned housing and promoting tourism can be effective strategies to address depopulation.
