| es_ES |
dc.description.abstract | [EN] The present final degree project consists of the creation of an artist's book printed in risography. It arises from the author's need to explore his own personal grief, marked by family dementia. Perpendicularly, it is also marked by the loss of cultural identity in the context of Canarian colonialism. Inspired by the poem "La Maleta" by Pedro Lezcano, the author rescues old images from his family album along with photographs from his childhood. Acting as a meticulous filter, he highlights parts of the images with greater conceptual or poetic weight. In this way, a visual dialogue is created between the present, the past century, and time immemorial. At the same time, within the artist's book, the author superimposes these images with texts akin to prose poetry, printed on vellum to distinguish between voice and memory. The text serves as a letter addressed to his grandmother, who suffered from dementia in her last years of life, exploring the fragmented memories that emerged from this disease. This process of grief intertwines with the experience of the loss of Canarian cultural identity and homeland, in a context marked by new forms of contemporary colonization. Through this project, the author seeks to honor the complexity of his grandmother's life and the women of previous generations, while distilling his feelings. The result is a space where collective memory, individual history, and artistic expression converge | es_ES |
