Viure en el Grau. Conjunto residencial y espacio público

Abstract

[ES] En el barrio del Grao existe una antigua parcela fabril que se ofrece para dar solución a un problema actual: la falta de vivienda. La morfología de la zona ha estado expuesta a numerosas transformaciones, provocando una discontinuidad a través de numerosos vacíos urbanos. La parcela que nos ocupa es el máximo exponente entre estos vacíos, pues irrumpe con la continuidad del eje cultural-recreativo que conecta a gran escala el nuevo proyecto para la desembocadura del río Túria con la Plaza del Rosario. El proyecto propone la construcción de tres edificios con programa híbrido (en el que destaca el uso de vivienda) y la mejora del espacio público contiguo, la Plaza Conde de Pestagua. Con este nuevo programa de usos, que juega con la privacidad y la colectividad, se pretende reactivar el tejido urbano y las conexiones entre vecinos tanto a nivel de calle como en las zonas comunes del edificio.

[EN] In the Grao neighbourhood there is an old factory plot that is offered as a solution to a current problem: the lack of housing. The morphology of the area has been exposed to numerous transformations, causing a discontinuity through numerous urban voids. The plot in question is the maximum exponent of these voids, as it breaks into the continuity of the cultural-recreational axis that connects on a large scale the new project for the mouth of the river Túria with the Plaza del Rosario. The project proposes the construction of three buildings with a hybrid programme (in which the housing use stands out) and the improvement of the adjoining public space, the Plaza Conde de Pestagua. With this new programme of uses, which plays with privacy and collectivity, the aim is to reactivate the urban fabric and the connections between neighbours both at street level and in the communal areas of the building.
