Valdosta is a really enchanting city but as I had been listening from students along this semester, this is something that not everybody realizes. I heard so many times the words `this is a boring place¿ and `there is nothing to do here¿. Nowadays our life style has changed society and has made people more passive.
There are so many people trying to pull students out of campus and to introduce them to a wonderful city that offers amusement almost every day. Many organizations try to show how interesting live in Valdosta can be and to turn this city into what used to be before the technological era, when people used to spend free time outdoors.
This project will try to be another source of information for students interested in the history and the activities that the university and the city of Valdosta have to offer.
This project is dedicated to all those people that have been showing me the culture and the life of Valdosta and those who work every day for maintaining this city alive. The main purpose of this project is to somehow help new international, and exchange students to know better the place and culture of this region. This is a brief introduction to most of what a freshman will need to know about the university, the culture, the history, the tourist information and some other matters to enjoy this experience from the very beginning. This guide can be added to the information that is given to the students upon arrival as an additional help and a way of introducing them to the culture and history as said before.
Another goal of this project is to promote Valdosta as a touristic destination. The tourist guide of the project could be used by anyone interested in this city and for nowadays and in my opinion, this guide is the closest thing to a real tourist guide ever written about Valdosta.
