Las Fallas: estudio para su declaración como patrimonio inmaterial de la humanidad

Abstract

This study presented below about the Fallas Festival as an Intangible Heritage of Humanity is intended to reflect and give deserved importance to Fallas as an ancient festival in Valencia. The objective of the study is to argue the wish to demonstrate that the Fallas Festival should be under the protection of World Heritage to preserve its durability in the future. Having World Heritage protection would help the Valencian people to conserve, protect and continue the legacy of their ancestors, in addition it would bring the festival recognition worldwide that an organization such as UNESCO brings. Moreover, we will be able to see how the festival evolves from its origins until today and we can discuss the elements with more quality and more interest to protect. Las Fallas is the identity of a part of Spain which has kept alive the language and customs deeply rooted in Valencia. We will also see the impact on tourism in the Valencian Comunity, since it is a festival that attracts thousands of national and international tourists. Finally, after knowing the intentions of the Central Board Fallera to send the nomination, we will be conducting some interviews with experts on the subject, as the coordinator of the expedient, Vice President of the JCF. Therefore the object of study will show that there is a valuable heritage to preserve and protect. There is a great deal of tourism in March which is a very important source of revenue for the Community and if we meet the requirements as the world Organization of UNESCO proposed, their response should say yes to our bid. There will also have literature with books written by writers of high professional talent like Antonio Ariño, Antonio Colomina, Manuel Gil and Subiela among others.

La fiesta de las Fallas en Valencia cumple con los criterios exigidos por la UNESCO con respecto a la declaración como Patrimonio Inmaterial de la Humanidad. Llevado a cabo el estudio de diferentes casos similares nacionales e internacionales que han sido ya declarados en este ámbito, podemos afirmar que las Fallas poseen un gran valor patrimonial en base a los criterios solicitados por la UNESCO, como por ejemplo el uso de lenguas tradicionales y expresiones orales, las artes, los usos sociales, rituales y festivos o las técnicas artesanales entre otros. Esto es algo que debería ser considerado por esta institución internacional para el reconocimiento del patrimonio inmaterial. Este otorgamiento y distintivo tendría una repercusión muy importante para Valencia, en cuanto a la posibilidad de salvaguardar mejor su patrimonio, conseguir el reconocimiento internacional, la continuación de la cultura de un pueblo o el aumento del turismo. Por todo ello consideramos conveniente hacer una investigación sobre la evolución histórica de la Fallas y presentar un estudio que reflejara que las Fallas cumplen con los criterios de la UNESCO para ser declaradas Patrimonio Inmaterial de la Humanidad. Esto sería de gran interés y trascendencia además un paso muy importante para toda la población valenciana, ya que para la población local seguir con esta tradición tiene un significado primordial, puesto que es una fiesta que se remonta a muchos años atrás, llevada a cabo por sus antepasados, que ha ido evolucionando a través del tiempo, y que tiempo ha sabido conservar el patrimonio inmaterial de un pueblo. Por lo tanto esta declaración reconocería internacionalmente su valor patrimonial y ayudaría al pueblo valenciano a su conservación y protección
