Structural Design Work of an Olympic Swimming Pool and Study of the Relationship of the Structural Model with the Architectural Design

Abstract

Erasmus Exchange Programme Thesis. Marche Polytechnic University (Ancona, Italy). The subject matter of this study is the development of a project concerning to a sports building. This study has to touch both the architectural aspect and the structural aspect of the building design. The first part comprises the feasibility study that evalue the set up of the functional areas and its relationship to the use classifications, with particular attention to satisfying the normative prescriptions with regard to both the accessibility and the fire prevention. The second one is the main part, that is based on the development of a structural model, evaluating an overview of the behaviour and designing all the structural elements, among them: roof, beams, columns, floor slabs.

TFG en Intercambio Académico. Università Politecnica delle Marche (Ancona, Italia). Este trabajo tiene como objetivo el desarrollo de un proyecto de pabellón deportivo con piscina olímpica, situado en Valencia. Se tiene en cuenta tanto el aspecto arquitectónico como el aspecto estructural del diseño del edificio. La primera parte consiste en el estudio de viabilidad, se evalúan las áreas funcionales, con observancia de las prescripciones normativas en accesibilidad y en prevención de incendios. La segunda parte se basa en el desarrollo de un modelo estructural, que evalúa el comportamiento y el diseño de todos los elementos estructurales, entre ellos: techo, vigas, columnas, ...
