Implementation of lean manufacturing in the volvo xc90 seat slides assembly line in zpp auto

Abstract

Consulta en la Biblioteca ETSI Industriales (8557)[EN] The present project is a Master Thesis of Industrial Engineering related to the specialization of Industrial Organization and Management. The thesis is based on the Volvo XC90 seat slides assembly line at ZPP Auto Ltd in Siedlce (Poland). The mentioned line is a direct production transfer from Autoliv Inc and has been operating for 7 years. Certain Lean Manufacturing procedures have already been implemented. However, the results of the line are not as expected and its performance needs to be improved. The aim of the thesis is to implement Lean Manufacturing procedures and improve the ones already exist in the Volvo XC90 seat slides assembly line at ZPP Auto Ltd in order to improve its efficiency. The work plan is to make visits to the company and analyze the in-plant processes in the assembly line to obtain the required data, understand the processes and notice any possibilities of improvement.
