Restitución del carácter monumental de la plaza mayor de Chelva: proyecto de urbanización

Abstract

La importancia patrimonial de la plaza justifica la participación del IRP. Consta de tres de elementos definitorios, punto de reflexión de la propuesta: - Conjunto eclesiástico: Iglesia Arciprestal, campanario y capilla. Conjunto declarado BIC. Constituye el objeto principal de la plaza. - Fachada edificación: Lienzo continuo que envuelve la plaza. Contiene al Ayuntamiento. - Fuente monumental: Pieza central, alrededor de la cual gira la urbanización. El problema actual reside en la mala relación entre estos elementos, que impide contemplar la calidad de su escena urbana. El peatónqueda relegado. La propuesta parte del análisis de estos conflictos, y asume las siguientes premisas: - Enfatizar el monumento BIC. - Potenciar los elementos característicos y restar importancia al resto. - Peatonalizar la plaza, eliminando cualquier barrera arquitectónica.

The Heritage importance of the square justifies the participation of IRP. It consists of three defining elements, viewpoints of the proposal: Ecclesiastic complex: Archbishop's church, church tower and chapel. The complex is declared BIC. It constitutes the main structure in the square. Façade of the building: Continuous facade that surrounds the square. Includes the town hall Monumental fountain: central part, enclosing the urbanization. The current problem consists of the poor relation between the elements that prevent considering the quality of the urban scenery. The pedestrian remains apart. The proposal starts with the analysis of these conflicts and is put forward in the following forms: - to emphasise the monument BIC - to promote the characteristic elements and to give less importance to the rest - to pedestrianize the square, eliminating any architectonical barrier.
