La representació audiovisual del teatre

Abstract

El teatro es una de las artes más importantes del mundo. Siendo así, hay veces que parece ser el gran olvidado. Progresivamente, el teatro ha quedado relegado hacia un campo de lo que es meramente cultural e histórico. Pese a que sigue existiendo el teatro puro, parece reservarse solamente a un tipo determinado de público y no algo apto para una multitud diversa de masas. Quizá por este motivo, el teatro, con todos los elementos que lo componen, ha tenido que adaptarse a las nuevas tecnologías y revalorizarse, convirtiéndose en libros y cine. Mediante el siguiente trabajo, conoceremos la esencia del teatro y sus componentes, por qué y cómo ha ido adaptándose a lo largo de los tiempos a los distintos soportes audiovisuales como son el cine, la televisión y la radio, además de sus antecedentes en el medio. ¿Se crea una obra de teatro para la gran pantalla o viceversa? ¿Por qué funciona o no el teatro en televisión? ¿Cómo se representa el teatro en la radio? ¿Podría considerarse el arte teatral el motor social de nuestras vidas?

Theatre is amongst the most important arts of the world; however it is often put aside and ignored. With time, theatre has progressively been left as a merely cultural and historical element. Although there is still ‘pure’ theatre, this seems to be only addressed to a certain public and not to the big crowds. In an attempt to broaden the audience, the theatre and the different elements integrating it have been reinvented, adapting to the new technologies and taking the shape of either books or films. Through the present study we will go deeper into the essence of the theater and its components: why and how the theater has kept on adapting with time to the different audio visual supports such as the cinema, the TV or the radio, as well as its background in media. Is the play created to serve the big screen or vice versa? Why theatre is working or not in TV? How is theater played on the radio? Could the theatre be considered as the social engine in our lives?
