Resumen
[ES] El objeto del presente trabajo es estudiar el nacimiento de la arquitectura moderna en el territorio valenciano en los años treinta, durante la Segunda República. Para ello se abordan las tipologías arquitectónicas racionalistas que se desarrollaban en los cascos urbanos como consecuencia de las nuevas formas de vida; así como el estudio de los arquitectos más representativos que se sumaron al desarrollo de esta nueva arquitectura y de los edificios que construyeron, haciendo mayor hincapié en la vivienda colectiva. Tomando como base una muestra de los edificios más representativos de la arquitectura moderna en los años treinta en Valencia, se explican las nuevas técnicas que se aplicaron tanto al diseño del proyecto como a la ejecución de la edificación; relacionándolos con obras de los grandes maestros arquitectos europeos y españoles que en la época sirvieron de inspiración para la arquitectura valenciana.
[EN] The purpose of this study is to inform the birth of modern architecture in the Valencia region in the thirties during the Second Republic. This rationalist architectural style which was developed in urban areas as a consequence of new forms of life is addressed; and the study of the most representative architects who joined the development of this new architecture and its buildings, placing greater emphasis on collective housing. Based on a sample of the most representative buildings of modern architecture in the thirties in Valencia, it will be explained the new techniques applied to both the project design and the execution of the building; relating them to works of the great masters of European and Spanish architecture who at the time served as inspiration for the Valencian architects.
