dc.description.abstract This book is issued at the occasion of the 2nd European Conference on electrochemical methods applied to the conservation of artworks, held in Valencia, on 23th September, 2014. This Conference has been hosted by the Instituto Universitario de Restauración del Patrimonio of the Universitat Politècnica de València and has been organized under the auspices of the Ministerio de Ciencia e Innovación, the Universitat Politécnica de València, the Universitat de València and the Universisad de Granada and the microcluster Grupo de análisis científico de bienes culturales y patrimoniales y estudios de ciencia de la conservación (Ref. 1362) belonging to the Valencia International Campus of Excellence. This Conference takes part of the dissemination of results plan established in the projects CTQ2011-28079-CO3-01, 02 and 03 co-supported by ERDEF funds inscribed in the Programa de Proyectos de Investigación no orientada del Plan Nacional I+D+I 2012-2014 of the Spanish Ministerio de Ciencia e Innovación. The Conference has been organized as an exceptional updating of the advances carried out in the last years in the application of electrochemical techniques in the field of heritage conservation. The Conference has a complete program that included four Invited Key Lectures devoted to the contribution of the electrochemical techniques to solve the general problems of the analysis of art and archaeological objects and their conservation treatments, respectively. The program is completed with a workshop where the researchers responsible for the R+D project present the most relevant results obtained. The workshop also includes with an exhibition of the capabilities of the nanoelectrochemical techniques developed in the project, which enable among other, the in situ analysis of nanosamples. We would like to thank the Local Committee for their constant work in the hard tasks needed for a successful meeting, the Scientific Committee for valuable advice and the production of an excellent Scientific Program and to all sponsoring institutions for their support without which this Conference would not have been possible. es_ES
