[EN] The Valencian region of Ribera del Xúquer on the townships of Carlet, L'Alcudia, Alzira, Algemesi and
Llombay Maestrat region, Alfarp and Catadau constitute a traditional core for many decades in growing
stone fruit and particularly peach and variants of peach, nectarine and paraguay.
Continuous adaptation of taste, that Central-Europeans consumers request, made that the plant material
was modified, aim if this TFG and that mainly includes mainly direct exportation of products collected
products. Since the 60's steps are being taken to early varieties which then had as highlighted in the GF
677 with a consequent increase in productivity and benefits profitabled this crop pattern. Entrances from
other latitudes decided that farmers did their best to improve the plant material and kept it as a normal
unfinished search process towards further new improvements of these kinds of fruits.
With the new plant breeding techniques in peach, nectarine and Paraguay even earlier while external and
internal product quality is improved varieties are achieved. Aspects, such as fruits and homogeneous
texture can be found in the study area through various companies that bring new products annually as a
result of their R + D + i and display their achievements to the primary sector to maintain the innovative
spirit of this region.
This study analyzes the results of some of the material improved by various breeders and distributed by a
leading company in the area of study, Carlet Hernandorena Nurseries - Benimodo. By offering the
opportunity to work in their facilities, we have quantified those varieties of semi early peach the current
provisional nomenclature 1126-8 cv, Grocivac-1 cv, Early Rich cv; nectarines and Garcica cv, Paraguayan
cv, Gardeta and 698-07 PSB cv. This is a different group between them and that in the future will allow to
replace cultivars that have being occupied an important place in the study area of this GFR.
They are analyzed based on criteria of Crop Protection Union (UPOV), whose area includes the European
Union (EU) for those descriptive character of any "new variety" to show their particularities and the criteria
accepted by member states EU as a novelty, uniformity and stability. These criteria biometrics performed
in groups of fruits taken at random from trees other than each of the varieties, to establish the different
contributions that may be of interest to complement production in the coming decades stone fruit of the
region of the Ribera del Xúquer can offer better quality products and returns to the cooperative farmer
entrepreneur or group who decide to pursue this interesting way of farming.
