[EN] The aim of this research is to present a simple and quick method to process LiDAR data
in different densities, in forest and cultivated areas. We´ll work with specific free software
with point clouds (FUSION) and data segmentation (INTERIMAGE). GIS (ArcGIS) will be
used as software support and management of geographic information desktop..
Nowadays, LiDAR technology has been established as a very reliable technique in the
evaluation of natural resources, highlighting its use in inventory, management and
modeling of forest areas. Some of these applications require the delimitation of tree
specimens and groups of them into stands, obtained from a hierarchical network aimed at
object and then integrated into a geodatabase.
In the first part of this research, the LiDAR data is described to obtain digital terrain
models (DTM) and surface (MDS), from which the digital model of vegetation (CHM) is
calculated.
In a second phase, different levels of segmentation and classification will be applied to
MDV, using the method of growing regions Baatz & Shape implemented in INTERIMAGE.
In a final stage the integration of LiDAR data with multispectral images to improve the
identification of canopy will be achieve.
