Superfotomontaje : análisis crítico del diseño gráfico para la representación de la arquitectura, fotomontaje y utopía en los años 60/70. El caso del Superstudio

Abstract

The thesis is based on the study of the architecture representation which has developed during the Sixties and the Seventies of the Twentieth century, focusing mainly on the relation between the expressive medium of the photomontage and the depiction of the utopia of the architecture, through works realized by the Italian group Superstudio. In the first part of this work have been studied the relevance and the meaning of the drawing applied to the architecture, then a critical analysis has been conducted on the different photomontage usages for the representation of the architecture. In the end it has been developed a study on the evolution of the utopia concept applied to the architecture along the Twentieth century. In the second part it has been analysed the graphical production of the Superstudio group, that is characterized by a critical thinking about the utopia of the architecture, which has been transposed in fascinating images realized with the technique of the photomontage, that in this case is called “Superphotomontage”.

El trabajo se centra en el estudio de la expresión gráfica de la arquitectura en los años 60 y 70 del siglo XX. Se profundiza, en concreto, en la relación establecida mediante el papel del fotomontaje como medio gráfico para la representación de la utopía de la arquitectura en la obra realizada por el grupo italiano Superstudio. Este trabajo se define a través de un estudio previo de la importancia y la significación del diseño gráfico aplicado a la arquitectura; de un análisis crítico sobre los diferentes usos de la técnica del fotomontaje para la representación arquitectónica; y de la evolución del pensamiento de la utopía de la arquitectura a lo largo del Novecientos. Finalmente, se pretende estudiar la producción gráfica de la obra del grupo italiano Superstudio, caracterizada por un pensamiento sobre la utopía de la arquitectura traducida en imágenes gráficas realizadas a través de la técnica del fotomontaje, que con ellos se vuelve en “Superfotomontaje”.
