Evolución histórica de la antigua fábrica de tabacos de Valencia

Abstract

[ES] Con el estudio y análisis del edificio histórico de tabacalera, se trata inicialmente de dar a conocer porque surgen las fábricas de tabacos en nuestro país, la importancia que tuvieron en la época, motivo por el cual se las ubicaba en edificios emblemáticos y sus características constructivas. Centrándonos y haciendo un especial hincapié en la fábrica de nuestra ciudad, su cambio de ubicación respecto a la inicial, los cambios que produjo en la ciudad su llegada, la importancia del papel de la mujer en dichas fábricas y la razón por la que se decidió darle un nuevo uso haciendo importantes reformas estructurales y de diseño, adaptando el edificio a la nueva sede del Excmo. Ayuntamiento de Valencia, sin perder nunca la esencia inicial del edificio. Haremos también mención a la polémica que suscitó dicha reforma. Tratándose de un edificio protegido de bien de relevancia local generó mucha problemática el derribo de dos de sus naves, puesto que consideraba que se alteraba su esencia inicial. Se creó una plataforma especial para defender ante los tribunales dicho interés, el cual, tras varias demandas, el Tribunal ha dictado sentencia considerando oportuna la reconstrucción en la totalidad de las naves derribadas, creando esto un importante coste económico. Servirá de base para analizar la tipología constructiva de la época y la historia de nuestra ciudad. Se concluye con una visión global y constructiva en los edificios históricos singulares como el que se analiza, han de ser rehabilitados para poder cumplir la normativa actual y seguir su función, aunque el uso cambie.

[EN] The reason for the study and analysis of the historical building of TABACALERA is to get to know why this factory appear in our country, the importance they had at that time, the reason for which they were located in emblematic buildings and their constructive features. Will make a special mention to the controversy around this upgrade do to that some people thought that there were too many changes being made to a building that was considered a building of local relevance. After taking the case to court, the final judgment given is that the two sheds demolished need to be built up again, causing this an important financial reimbursement. It concludes with a global and constructive vision of the unique historical buildings like the one being analysed, they must be rehabilitated to comply with regulations and continue its function although use change.
