Estambul : Visión personal

Abstract

Este trabajo consiste en un análisis global de lo que es, a día de hoy, Estambul. En el estudio llevado a cabo se incide en los aspectos más característicos de la ciudad y que la convierten en un organismo tan singular; un organismo vivo y cambiante que habla del pasado, presente y futuro de cientos de generaciones que lo han alimentado de historias. La ciudad, juguetona, trata de seducir a quién la quiere conocer; misteriosa, no revelará sus secretos; manipuladora, consigue que todos caigan en su trampa. Su belleza de otro mundo, sumerge a aquellos que se atreven a mirarla en una lucha por tenerla; ella, siempre victoriosa, persiste; sus amantes, perecen. Esta investigación no es más que un osado intento por descifrarla; descubrir sus virtudes, heridas y cicatrices, su pasado y presente. Los paisajes de Estambul son novelas que relatan las historias de aquellos que lograron conquistarla, sus amores, desamores y la furia con la que borra los capítulos que prefiere olvidar. Tan estrecha relación entre la ciudad y el ser humano ha dado lugar a un espacio tan personal, lleno de simbología y significado que se ha manchado por el monstruo capitalista; sin escrúpulos ni sentimientos, que ha logrado apoderarse de ella. Sometida, secuestrada, está pidiendo a gritos un cambio, ¿habrá perdido su poder de seducción? Por vez primera, Estambul ha sucumbido a las garras de un gobierno que no la quiere, la utiliza. El caos reina en la ciudad, es el momento de devolverle su poder, ¿será el urbanismo la solución? Bienvenidos a Estambul.

This project is an analysis of what Istanbul is nowadays. The study lies in the most distinctive features of the city that turn it into an extremely rare organism; a living and changeable organism indeed that talks about the past, present and future of hundreds of generations that nourished it by stories. The city, playful, tries to seduce anyone who wants to get to know it; mysterious, it will not reveal its secrets; manipulative, all of them end up taking the bait. Its amazing beauty sinks those who dare to look at it in an endless fight to possess it; Istanbul, always victorious, persists; its lovers, perish. This investigation is just a daring try to decipher the city; find out its virtues, injuries and scars, its past and present. Istanbul’s landscapes are novels telling the stories of those who got to conquer it, its love and hate stories and the furious way it erases the chapters it would rather forget. Such a close relationship between the city and human beings, developed highly personal spaces, full of symbology and meaning that got damaged by the capitalism monster; without feelings or scruples, who took over it. The city, put down, kidnapped, is crying out for a change, ¿did it lose its seduction power? For the first time, Istanbul succumbed to a government that does not love it, but uses it. Chaos took over the city, it is time to give its power back, ¿will urbanism be the solution? Welcome to Istanbul
