LA OTRA IMAGEN. EXPLORACIÓN DEL ÁLBUM FAMILIAR A TRAVÉS DE LA CIANOTIPIA

Abstract

[EN] This final degree dissertation (TFG), begins from my meeting with an old photography family album, the recent discovery of the cyanotype technique -through the course “Painting and photography”-, and my childhood memories of the darkroom. Photography and all its process, have always been present in my life through the figure of my father. For this project I started from old family photographs. With cyanotype technique and the help of new technologies, I could experiment with the images' reproduction while reflecting on the nature of photography. I could also emulate the original development process from photographic film. Using cyanotype technique, I've got new images that rework the family album, unifying their visual language and establishing connections that have led to a more personal and analytical rereading , as well as a reflection on the nature of the photographic image.

[ES] Este trabajo Final de Grado (TFG), parte de mi reencuentro con el viejo álbum de fotografías familiares, del reciente descubrimiento de la técnica de la cianotipia a través de la asignatura “Pintura y fotografía”, y de mi recuerdo de infancia del cuarto oscuro de revelado. La fotografía y todo su proceso, siempre han estado presentes en mi vida a través de mi padre. Para este proyecto he partido de la utilización de viejas fotografías familiares. Su manipulación con cianotipia y la ayuda de las nuevas tecnologías, me ha permitido experimentar con la reproducción de las imágenes, emulando el original proceso de revelado a partir del carrete fotográfico. Utilizando la técnica de la cianotipia, he conseguido nuevas imágenes con las que reelaborar el álbum familiar, unificando su lenguaje visual y estableciendo conexiones que han dado dan pie a una relectura más personal y analítica del mismo, así como a una reflexión sobre la naturaleza de la imagen fotográfica.
