EL ESTUDIO HISTÓRICO-TÉCNICO DE LAS PINTURAS MURALES DE SANTA MARÍA DE MAÑÓN (A CORUÑA)

Abstract

[ES] Este trabajo final de grado trata del análisis técnico e histórico de dos conjuntos de pinturas murales ubicadas en la pared Norte de la iglesia de Santa María de Mañón en la provincia de A Coruña. Después de varias transformaciones arquitectónicas, en concreto en los años 90, se descubrió que albergaba una pinturas murales muy relevantes de estilo gótico hispanoflamenco. Las más antiguas, resultaría ser uno de los Ciclos de la Pasión más completo de Galicia. En cuanto a la segundas, el Juicio Final, completan el conjunto Pasión-Redención, tema común en las iglesias gallegas. Gracias a la búsqueda bibliográfica, a la comparación con otros ciclos pictóricos de la región y al análisis de la naturaleza de los materiales compositivos mediante técnicas específicas simples, se referencia y se plasma la importancia histórica del conjunto pictórico dando valor al patrimonio gallego. Este estudio se considera como una introducción y una parte integrante de un proyecto de conservación y restauración más amplio en coordinación con otros cuatro TFG presentados por Aida Blaya, Sandra Brisa, Francesco Devicienti y Noelia Nadal.

[EN] This final bachelor report is dedicated to the technical and historical analysis of two mural painting assemblies located on the North wall of the church of Santa Maria de Mañón in the province of Coruña in Spain. After several architectural transformations, mural paintings with a relevant hispanic-flemish gothic style and others with a mannerist style were discovered in the 90’s. It turned out that the most ancient were one of the most complete concerning the Cycle of the Passion in Galicia. For the others, the Final Judgment completes the assembly of the Passion-Redemption, a common topic in Galician churches. Thanks to the bibliographical research, to the comparison with other pictorial cycles of the region and to the analysis of the nature of the material components by using simple specific techniques, we have been able to highlight the historical importance of such pictorial assembly into the Galician patrimony. This study can be considered as an introduction and also an integral part of a more important conservative and restorative project in coordination with four others TFG presented by Aida Blaya, Sandra Brisa, Francesco Devicienti and Noelia Nadal
