An approach to Language Tourism

Abstract

Language Tourism, linguistic tourism, edu-tourism, language vacation, or educational trips. Many definitions try to explain how it must be called this kind of tourism, that nowadays prompts the displacement of thousands of travellers motivated by the desire of learning languages. Discussing many aspects, such as its historical background and its cultural, and promotional impacts. A questionnaire study through a group of international students, demonstrate that it may be considerer a new branch within the tourism industry and for the most of the participants, the main motivation for travelling was learning the language. Their preferences gives data for its implementation and mejora. Economic analysis, shows that this new branch within the tourism industry, could be a good tourism product. A brief introduction to the Spanish language industry, how was developed, organized and which targets follow for its development. Clear conclusions after this huge study, it’s a truly new tourism branch and the importance of it social and economic value.
