Instalaciones corporales. Una aproximación artística a la relación poder-sujeto-cuerpo

Abstract

[EN] Bodies installations. An artistic approach to the relation power-subject-body, the analysis of the working paper first examines the problem of the subject, articulated by multiple power relations. To this end, the attention focuses in the different structures, techniques and technologies of the power from disciplinary societies to societies of control, towards the current-neoliberal society. The paper discusses how these relationships influence the socio-cultural construction of bodies and subjectivities. Subsequently, under review since the sixties the paper studies series of creative practices, where the body is used as a support and an active medium for the representation of the triad: power-subject- body. The analysed references artists, which attention focused on the idea of the body as an object that transpierce those power relations, and the body as resistance to them. Finally, the development of series - "objects / bodies installations" demonstrate the body couple, entering into an intimate interaction with himself, using this same body as a crosscutting and mediator between subject, body and power. The final creative product transforms into metaphors of the power

[ES] El proyecto Instalaciones corporales. Una aproximación artística a la relación poder- sujeto-cuerpo , examina en primer lugar, el problema del sujeto articulado por múltiples relaciones de poder. Para ello, se centra la atención en diferentes estructuras, técnicas y tecnologías de poder, desde las sociedades disciplinarias, pasando por las sociedades de control, hasta la sociedad actual-neoliberal. Se indaga cómo influyen tales relaciones en la construcción sociocultural de los cuerpos y las subjetividades. Posteriormente, se examina una serie de prácticas creativas, desde los años sesenta, donde el cuerpo se utiliza como un soporte y un medio activo para la representación de la tríada de poder-sujeto-cuerpo. Se analizan a aquellos artistas que enfocan su atención en la idea del cuerpo como objeto por el cual trascurren las relaciones de poder, y el cuerpo como resistencia a las mismas. Finalmente, se demuestra el desarrollo de una serie de “objetos/instalaciones corporales” hechos para que se acoplen al cuerpo, entrando en una interacción íntima con él, utilizándolo como eje transversal y mediador entre el sujeto, el cuerpo y el poder. Objetos convertidos en metáforas del poder.
