Dos perspectivas del Este del Retiro

Abstract

[EN] This paper analyzes two perspectives drawn by the architect Lorenzo Gallego Llausás for two urbanization plans in the area of Madrid to the East of the Retiro. The target is to investigate why two drawings predictably made by the same author and so close in time use graphic resources so different for its task of depicting the city that is been planned. The study of the circumstances that conditioned its gestation will serve us to understand how these differences respond mainly to the urban approach of the proposals they convey. These drawings illustrate how the features of the container (the drawing of the city in this case) are intrinsically related to the intention of the contents: that is, the urbanization plan

[ES] El artículo analiza dos perspectivas dibujadas en 1923 y 1931 por el arquitecto Lorenzo Gallego Llausás para sendos proyectos de urbanización de la zona de Madrid al Este del Retiro. La cuestión es indagar por qué motivo dos dibujos, presumiblemente de un mismo autor y tan próximos en el tiempo, emplean recursos gráficos tan diferentes en su cometido de representar la ciudad que se proyecta. El estudio de las circunstancias que condicionaron su gestación servirá para entender cómo estas diferencias responden fundamentalmente a los planteamientos urbanísticos de las propuestas que comunican. Estos dibujos ilustran cómo las características del continente, el dibujo de la ciudad en este caso, se encuentran intrínsecamente relacionadas con las intenciones del contenido, el proyecto de urbanismo
