La reconstrucción de Múnich tradición y renovación

Abstract

[EN] The reconstruction of Munich, a city torn between the inertia of rigid tradition and the renovating impulse of progress, after World War II left the mark of this dichotomy in its character on the map of the rebuilt city. As opposed to the mimetic reconstructions of the centre of the city, Leo von Klenze’s exemplary interventions on the Pynakothek and the Glyptothek, among other buildings, are among the most delicate and unusual paradigms of reconstruction in postwar Europe following contemporary methods. This article skilfully analyses this dialectic between opposing concepts in a single city with the specific cases of buildings and the architects who reconstructed them.

[ES] La reconstrucción de Múnich tras la Segunda Guerra Mundial, una ciudad dividida entre la inercia de una fuerte tradición y el impulso renovador del progreso, dejó reflejada esta dicotomía de su carácter en el tejido recompuesto de la ciudad. Más allá de las reconstrucciones miméticas del centro de la ciudad, las intervenciones ejemplares en las dañadas Alte Pynakothek y la Glyptothek de Leo von Klenze, entre otros edificios, se cuentan en nuestros días entre los paradigmas más delicados y singulares de la reconstrucción en la posguerra europea desde presupuestos contemporáneos. Este artículo analiza con agudeza esta dialéctica entre conceptos opuestos en una misma ciudad a través de los casos concretos de edificios y arquitectos responsables de su reconstrucción.
