[EN] In this paper we present some reflections about the process of evaluation of teaching as a starting point for an improvement. Without information there cannot be change. Any improvement in the classroom requires dealing with information coming from, first, the students as counterpart in the university learning teaching process; second, other colleagues who give their professional opinion and; third, of ourselves as lecturers, so that a complete evaluation is made from all points of view.

[EN] At this work a methodology is proposed for a course of the discipline of Operations Management with a focus on active methodologies in the degree of Electronics and Automatic. For the course is combined: lecture, group work, problem-based learning, project-based learning and presentation of group work. Previous experiences in the same course allow us to conclude the importance of the lecture in this environment in what is the only course of the discipline in all the degree. The importance of feedback in project learning is not easy for large groups such as the case study, suggesting the presentation of group work as a good solution to the problem

Action Research Projects: one step ahead in the researcher-practitioner relationships

[EN] This study pretends to highlight the usefulness of developing action research (AR) projects as a way to develop a set of integrated studies based on a dual contribution: academic and managerial ones. The concept of AR Project goes one step ahead in terms of AR methodology as an extended case study. We describe an specific AR Project associated to a doctoral theses in the field of innovation intermediation. As main results, we have learned from this experience that (1) the relationship between researchers and practitioners must be collaborative and based on trust and commitment, (2) an AR Project is broader and more complex than a case study, (3) the diffusion of research results must be differentiated for practitioners and academics, and finally, (4) the AR Project is an open and collaborative innovation practice.

Implementation of a Gamification Platform in a Master Degree (Master in Economics)

[EN] Nowadays, educational platformsfocus on offering content as well as covering the main needs of users. However, very few or almost none offers anything to improve the integration between users and the system. It is intended to use the thinking of games and the mechanics of games to solve these problems and motivate users.An experiment has been carried outfor this reason, in which an educational platform, created in a personalized way for the students of the Master in Economics of the University of Granada, becomes the day to day of thesestudents, yielding results and Statistics on how to improve student motivation.

The Service-Learning methodology applied to Operations Management: From the Operations Plan to business start up

[EN] A teaching innovation methodology characterized for being a link between the students´ learning process and the University Social Responsibility is the "Service-Learning" (SL). Recently, it is been emphasized that teachers in the field of Business Management should use teaching methods that promote civic values and social commitment. In this line, the SL complements the economic-financial education that students receive, allowing them to develop important professional and personal skills as well as to receive training according to socially responsible principles, since they learn by working in community service initiatives. Our SL experience consisted in combining the teaching innovation in five subjects taught at the University of León (Spain) –where one of them is from the field of Operations Management– with the provision of a free support service for rural women's entrepreneurship. In the current unemployment situation, a possible alternative is the creation of an own company. However, female entrepreneurs have to develop their business idea and to demonstrate its viability, which poses them serious difficulties due to lack of training, experience or even advice on the matter. After detecting this social need, our experience consisted in organizing multidisciplinary groups of students to guide female entrepreneurs in rural areas during the whole entrepreneurship process. After developing this activity of teaching innovation, we can conclude that the SL is a good methodology to improve the academic, personal and social development of students, suggesting that it is possible to join their academic success with the social commitment of the University.

Learning to Teach Lean Management through Games: Systematic Literature Review

[EN] The mail goal of this work is to analyze and synthesize the research on teaching methods of Lean Management through games. For this a systematic literature review has been carried out. The main results show: a) A classification of the literature and the main topics consi- dered, b) a bibliometric analysis, and c) a discussion of the empirical evidence. Finally, we propose new opportunities and challenges that should be addressed by future research.

A first approximation to the SPOCs-FC in the context of the Supply Chain Management

[EN] This study provides a first overview of how to combine some of the elements of the blended teaching models, such as SPOCs, with new teaching approaches, like the Flipped Classroom, in the domains of the Supply Chain Management education. Its main goal is to raise the learning rate in a heterogeneous students’ group. The proposal takes into account both classic curricular concerns on the teaching of Supply Chain Management, as in Visich and Khumawala (2006), and its pedagogical new trends, like in Wisner (2017).

Teaching innovation system applied in business management subjects

[EN] Inspired by the insights that are used in successful companies, the aim of this project is the use of games as a catalyst for training in different subjects, such as the successful game: Triviados (triviados.org). In order to reach this goal, we have the software of the company Blunder Solitions, SL (http://www.blunder.es). Software that is already used in companies such as Telecable, Nesspreso, Unilever, Pharmadus botanicals. Traditional lectures do not fix long-term knowledge. Blunder creates a system of learning by mistake.The student answers about 5 questions in one minute and learns by playing. The tool uses the forgetting curve algorithm to fix long-term knowledge. By this way, the final test results improve. Blunder offers a fun mobile training. We can know which student learns faster, learns more or learns better a particular topic. If a student plays the subject that the teacher has explained in class the level of learning affects to the final evaluation positively.

A comprehensive framework for optimising the effects of inverse logistics practices in SC sustainability

[EN] With growing sustainability concern in mind, firms seek to implement reverse logistic systems in their operations. However, if these practices were not properly implemented, they would be costly and even ineffective. In order to guide company efforts, the present study provide a comprehensive framework based on two dimensions. On one hand, it suits a reverse logistic management model stage-by-stage. On the other hand, the framework brings together concrete measures to optimize SC sustainability from three perspectives: operative, economical and environmental. The proposed framework thus allow to balance reverse logistic practices and SC sustainability. Furthermore, we validated it by analysing six real case in different industries. Findings highlight how reverse logistic activities may improve each SC sustainability dimension.

Experiences of teaching innovation for the consolidation of a R&D&I culture

[EN] This article aims to present the results of a project whose objective is to develop a teaching strategy for the development of R + D + I competences in university students, through the development of prototypes associated with the productive areas of a given region, based on the Neoschumpeterian evolutionary theory, the integrative approach to creativity, the processes of the entrepreneurial spirit with a humanistic approach and the theory of models of technological innovation and business innovation, as well as the analysis of different strategies to promote innovation and entrepreneurship as Junior Achievement Worldwide, Network For Teaching Entrepreneurship (NFTE), Innovacient, among others. The project was developed in six phases, with 60 work teams, obtaining 60 functional prototypes, distributed in the following categories: 8 Agroindustry and food Service, 8 APPS and Software development, 8 Biotechnology, 15 Energies for the future, 7 of social innovation, 7 of new materials for construction, and 7 of Robotic. The most used techniques were Scaper-QFD-Triz for tangible prototypes; Desing Thinking for innovative ideas in services and Agile Methodology for APPs and software.

Protocol: validation of the INCODE barometer to measure the innovation compe-tence through the Rasch Measurement Theory

[EN] This communication presents a protocol in order to show the different phases that must be followed in order to validate the INCODE barometer, which is used to measure the innovation competence, with Rasch Measurement Theory. Five phases are stated: dimensionality analysis, individual reliability and validity analysis of ítems and persons, global reliability and validity analysis, and cathegory analysis.

Presentation of Energy and Services Companies (Escos) Observatory in Spain

[EN] The Observatory on the Market of Energy Services Companies (ESEs) 2016 in Spain has been jointly conducted by ANESE and the Higher Technical School of Engineering and Industrial Design of Technical University of Madrid. The core of the study was based on the analysis of the data obtained from a specifically designed questionnaire, which has been completed by numerous representatives of ESEs in Spain. The questionnaire has allowed to study the ESE market, showing a detailed vision of its true protagonists, the ESEs. In this way, it is possible to know the main opportunities and barriers for the development of the business.

Starting Point on the Development of Environemental Risk Management Compe-tences: experiential learning

[EN] One of the characteristics of the European Space of Higher Education is to consider university degrees in terms of learning outcomes, and essentially expressed in forms of competence. Competencies represent a dynamic combination of attributes such as knowledge and its application, attitudes and responsibilities that describe the learning outcomes of a particular program. Transversal competences, such as competences towards environmental risk management, are part of the general characteristics of human action in economic and technical environments. The training, evaluation and development of professional competences can present different approaches and teaching-learning methodologies. In our study, we focus on learning from experience. With the evaluation of students' learning styles, we can begin to know how our students begin to develop their skills towards environmental risk management.

Managerial competencies in Operations Management

[EN] The main objective of this paper is to develop a method of self-assessment of managerial competencies in Operations Management. Specifically we work the following skills: Analytical Consideration, Planification and organization, Consciousness and teamwork, Adaptability, Assertiveness, Leadership. The empirical evidence shows how some of these abilities are related to the results of the course while no relation was found with the results obtained with the results the rest of the degree.

Evaluating the impact of ERP systems on SC performance with ISM

[EN] Most companies nowadays have already implemented on-premise or cloud -based ERP systems into their IT infraestrutures. These packages allow firms to integrate, standardize and execute the whole business processes in real time, improving their productivity and operational efficiency. Previous studies highlight their beneficial effects go beyond the single firm. Indeed, ERP system can assist supply‐chain partners to work in close coordination. In order to reach a better understanding in this matter, the present study aims to develop a comprehensive framework. This will represent the benefits derived from ERP adoption in Supply Chain performance. In doing so, we applied an interpretive structural modelling (ISM). Finally, we provide a case study that explores the viability of this framework.

Learning experience using an app in Bachelor Degree

[EN] The goal of this paper is to expose the planning and implementation of a learning improvement app in subjects related to Operations Management in Bachelor`s Degrees. We show the experience of the app in two subjects, commenting on the differences, the difficulties encountered and the analysis of the results of a survey conducted to the students. This initiative arises from the experience of the Research Group on Production and Information and Communication Technologies (GIPTIC-UCM) of the Complutense University of Madrid as a result of the participation in an Educational Innovation Project.

We will show the results of the survey to students from four Spanish universities on the use of the app. The results show that for the students the app is useful to review; to bring the subject up to date; to remember; to learn; to know and understand.

Playing in Operations Management

[EN] The current model of competency-based learning requires new tools that allow students to develop these competencies and become active subjects of their learning (rather than passive receivers of a contents). Gamification or ludification is becoming an innovative trend in many areas, also in higher education. Games can provide a useful environment for students to acquire professional skills, a fact that is much more difficult to acquire through traditional learning methods. In that sense, this paper presents the experience of designing a game for Operations Management students.

Socrative: A tool to dinamyze the classroom

[EN] The introduction of new technologies in teaching is a challenge that teachers in Oprations Management have to deal with. "Socrative" is an application created in 2010 by profesor Amit Maimon, from School of Management and Management of Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). This tool allows to induce reflections on the meaning of concepts that are exposed in the classroom, requiring some response immediate from the studentes. We consider that there are many advantages that can be obtained wtih the use of these technologies. It capture the interest of the student, promotes the involvement in a continuous working, favors collaboration in the classroom combating the "scenic fear" and allows to strengthen of knowledge. At the same time, helps to better retain what is explained and forces studentes to make mistakes or succeed, stimulating the debate.
